OUR STORY

A Bath Recitals flyer
  • Bath Recitals has been operating under various names since 1981. Originally Bath Georgian Festival Society it changed its name to Young Recital Artists Trust, then Bath Recital Artists Trust with Bath Recitals being a short version.
  • From its inception the aim has been to provide a platform for young professional musicians at the start of their careers. Many of whom have successfully risen to the top of their professions.
  • From solo performers to chamber groups and orchestras, and even an opera company, Bath Recitals has staged over 536 events with young professional musicians, many from leading conservatoires both from this country and abroad.
  • We now promote 8 events a year and cover a wide spectrum of musical activity. Founder and artistic director Tom Clarke is now President following on from Sir Peter Pears (who performed in 1986), Sir Charles Groves and Sir Charles Mackerras.
