Formed in 2008 at the Royal Academy of Music, the Dulcinea Quartet enjoys performing music from the classical string quartet repertoire alongside contemporary works and commissions.
The Dulcinea Quartet is also part of ANIMA, a chamber ensemble that plays fascinating contemporary music alongside animated films. ANIMA has recorded several scores for films including the recent award-winning documentary Death of a Gentleman.
The Quartet recently returned from a successful third tour of Japan featuring a new commission for String Quartet and Shamisen visiting Tokyo, Aomori, Ibaraki, Hikone and Yokohama.
This programme takes us on a musical journey from the classical rigour of Haydn and Schubert though the romanticism of Mendelssohn and to the music of the great American composer Barber.
